My Irish ancestors were descended from the O'Driscolls

of West Cork, Ireland and this page about their

beginnings is intended to honor them.

The O'Driscoll Clans were first in South Kerry,

then later West Cork, Corca Laoighde,

in the County of Cork, Southern Ireland.

My gg grandmother Mary Ann Driscoll

was born in Kentucky in 1838,

her parents came from Pennsylvania

and Kentucky, with her father and brother

both being named Andrew Jackson Driscoll.

John Henry and Mary Ann Driscoll Deal

were married December 25, 1856 in Jefferson County, Indiana

and were the parents of my great grandmother

Mary Elizabeth Deal

John Deal Sr. was born in Mercer County, Kentucky

in 1832 and died May 30, 1904.

His parents were both born in Pennsylvania.

Mary Ann Driscoll was born April 2, 1838 in Kentucky

and died May 2, 1923 in Shelby County, Indiana.

Mary's father and brother were both named Andrew Jackson Driscoll

and her parents were born in Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

John Henry and Mary Ann Driscoll Deal lived with their children

in Boggstown/London, in the Moral Township of

Shelby County, Indiana near many other Deal family members.

The O'Driscolls were among the first Clans of Ireland.

The Territories of Ancient Irish families

were rulers and Royalty who later became pirates

as outsiders began invading their ancestral lands.

Many of the O'Driscoll Castles which were once home

to these proud people, remain standing today

in the areas surrounding the County of Cork.
